We’ve come a long way from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s goal of “flattening the curve” at the start of the China Virus pandemic. Regrettably, he and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are leading the way to a flattening of the American spirit, instead. These two Italian Americans are at the pinnacle of their careers and at the top of our nation’s ruling class, but are dividing our nation with utopian goals. Italians are supposed to be realistic and pragmatic.
If you have seen video montages of Dr. Fauci’s flip-flops on Covid strategy they are disturbing. From ‘we have nothing to worry about; masks don’t help; and mandates are unnecessary’ to ‘we need vaccine mandates and must wear masks outdoors’, this epidemic expert has sown more confusion than wisdom. He no longer has any idea where the goal post of ‘herd immunity’ is. After 18-months of this pandemic, he is still stumped by natural immunity as a defense against Covid. We only found out of his ignorance when he was asked about it on CNN last week. “I don’t have a really firm answer for you on that.” Over 16 million Americans have recovered from Covid, clearly achieving some degree of natural immunity. Nevertheless, Fauci dismisses them as part of the deplorable “unvaxxed.”
He claims to “follow the science” but hasn’t once expressed concern about the 1.6 million unvaxxed illegals (so far!) that are being distributed throughout America from our open southern border. He hasn’t said a peep about Biden’s exemption of 500,000 postal employees from the vaccine mandate. Yet, he is treated like a god by the corporate media, even after it was revealed in Senate testimony that he funded risky coronavirus research at the Wuhan Lab in Red China. The media treats this shocking revelation as fake news. Let’s see, did this pandemic come from a sloppy lab with Fauci funding, or did it come from a “wet market” coincidentally in the same Chinese city? If it’s from the wet market, Fauci is in the clear, but that means we should be terrified – what else is breeding in Chinese markets every day? Fauci would love ‘to flatten’ the Lab talk. His every utterance is pure doom & gloom and contradictory. It seems he only wants to please his bosses.
Our other ethnic cousin, Nancy Pelosi, is hell-bent on crushing America’s entrepreneurial spirit. She is single-handedly holding the bipartisan Infrastructure bill hostage to the utopian Democrat $3.5 trillion “reconciliation” bill – can’t have any bridges fixed unless you make America a socialist nation. That same utopian bill would have granted millions of illegal aliens citizenship, but mercifully the congressional Parliamentarian today struck it out as a violation of the legislative rules.
Still, the bill aims to transform the United States into a couch potato paradise where the personal responsibility and ambition will be obsolete. Everything in life will be subsidized – from child care to college, medical and dental care coverage, reversal of climate change, among other dreams – until the money runs out. That’s the rub. It’s all to be paid for with huge tax levies and greater national debt, something that even Pelosi’s fellow Democrats like Senator Joe Manchin (orig: Mancini) consider too much to bear.
Pelosi clearly wants sainthood for this transformation of our free market society into a welfare state. Her fanatical pursuit rejects compromise. Like Marx, Mao, Lenin, and so many others with “good intentions” who believed in utopia, Pelosi sees human nature as something that can be permanently transformed on her watch. It still amazes me how so many people see Western Civilization and our capitalist system as some lucky break that just happened. Or, they see our success as due solely to White conquest and exploitation. They can’t fathom how much courage and brainpower our European ancestors had in inventing the modern world.
Capitalism is about incentives and rewards, but also fear – the fear of poverty. Everyone should be protected from life’s suffering, but too many giveaways can destroy the work ethic and even the family structure – basics for a prosperous and stable society. Whatever lessons Pelosi gleaned from her Italian background concerning capitalism and Western values seem lost to her now. She is marching blindly to radically change a good system that may not be perfect but attracts millions of desperate people from cultures that have flattened the human spirit ages ago. -JLM

I would caution some common sense viz a viz the Wuhan Lab. Nothing has been proven yet, either in China or via any alleged funding of “rogue” viral research from the CDC.
Let us recall the Roman “Rule of Law,” as well our American variation of it: “Innocent until proven guilty.”
Common sense will also tell you that there never will be an investigation of the Lab or Fauci under the Biden-Harris regime. Fauci’s emails and past statements are damning enough to question this “innocent” man. His sole defense thus far, during questioning by fellow doctor Sen Rand Paul, is that “gain of function” doesn’t really mean “gain of function” even though the grant he approved for such research used that term. Seems to me, as a scientist, Fauci would be at the forefront in the quest to find the origin of this deadly pandemic. To date, no animal carrying this virus has been discovered. If it’s not from the Lab, why isn’t Fauci on a crusade to clean up China’s “wet markets”? Let’s not excuse Fauci just because he shares our heritage.
Now, even the left-wing media is acknowledging the role (formerly a “conspiracy theory”) of the Wuhan Lab. No other explanation makes sense. Nevertheless, in spite of Fauci’s complicity, he continues to be treated as a rock star by the media.
Cuomo, DeBlasio, Pelosi and now Fauci are the albatrosses around the Italian American neck.
