Dr. Anthony Fauci is the highest paid bureaucrat in the federal government – some $500,000 per year. More than the president earns!

As the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases with a budget of $6 billion he is also the Chief Medical Advisor to the President until 2024 when he will be 84 years old.  Not bad for a guy from the old neighborhood.

But, how effective has he been?  Like a parrot (pappagallo) he reliably pushes masks, vaccines, and mandates 24/7, and for good measure he suppresses any optimism.  Remember last year before Warp Speed added vaccines to Fauci’s spiel, it was lockdowns, masks, and sanitizers.  Nowhere on the menu of warnings was “lose weight!” or “get off your ass!” or “open the gyms, close the bakeries!” New research finds that the coronavirus has an affinity for fat cells, which may explain why obese people populate the ICUs.

I once admired and defended Dr. Fauci, as a scientist and Italian American role model.  Unfortunately, he hasn’t risen to the challenge of this pandemic.  He parrots the same politically correct hysteria, that outdoor sports events are “super spreaders” while BLM protests and Nancy Pelosi gatherings are not.  He believes in vaccine/testing mandates for “everybody” entering the country unless they illegally cross our southern border. He’s fine with mandates for working people but not welfare recipients.

He claims all sorts of “data” to back up his warnings but pleads ignorance to studies on natural immunity and therapeutics.  Have you ever heard him recommend treatments like monoclonal antibodies or even Vitamin D?  No, Dr. Fauci apparently wishes to inoculate the world and eradicate Covid-19 from the planet so he doesn’t have to come up with a new strategy.

Do you need to be a doctor to assess Fauci’s performance these past two years?  From any management perspective, he should be relieved of duty.  This is not a political opinion, although Fauci has played politics to the hilt – stating that Donald Trump’s exit was “liberating” for him, and suggesting Republican Senator Ted Cruz has more to answer for “January 6th^” than Fauci does for subsidizing the Wuhan Lab.  Clearly, Fauci feels politically safe enough to poke his scalpel around a partisan jugular.

If we can blame Trump for the 400,000 covid deaths in 2020, and this year’s additional 400,000 on Biden, what responsibility does Fauci have as advisor to both presidents?  Forget about his flip-flops on masks, opening schools, pushing lockdowns and mandates, and dampening holiday celebrations.  You would think he’d at least be on a crusade to shut down Chinese “wet markets,” where he believes the pandemic started.  But, he’s more interested in dodging questions on the Wuhan Lab.

Fauci is the darling of corporate media, they love his anti-Trump vibes and his celebrity-like love of photo-ops and easy interviews.  They have as much interest in delving into his Wuhan Lab connections as they do in Hunter Biden’s laptop.  And, have you seen any medical researchers or epidemiologists questioning Fauci on mainstream news?  There are plenty on FOX News – and prestigious ones from the top medical schools.

Admittedly, this “war” on the China Virus and all its variants are driving scientists crazy, but perhaps pandemics are too important to be left to doctors.  Abraham Lincoln, wasn’t a soldier, but went through three commanders before he found Ulysses S. Grant.  Grant’s predecessors were either too hesitant or unimaginative. Even Fauci and his followers now see the collateral damage from Covid restrictions – the teen suicides, the fentanyl deaths, the failing education, the economic devastation – that are undermining society worse than the disease.

Some states haven’t followed Fauci’s parroting, instead have remained open for business and schooling since 2020.  But Fauci isn’t interested in that data.  Is this the mark of a true man of science or a good manager? 

A couple of weeks ago, Parade magazine, had an intelligence column by Marilyn vos Savant, who is part Italian, with an IQ of 228.  She wrote that a sizeable portion of unvaccinated people weren’t against vaccines but getting jabbed.  Isn’t that all we see on the news:  people getting stabbed in the arm?  Beside recognizing natural immunity, Fauci might increase the immunity rate by simply telling the media to stop showing the damn needle.  But, it ain’t gonna happen.

It’s time for the good doctor to leave his perch. -JLM
