I wonder if New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo is sad that Donald Trump is no longer president. Before January 20th, New York’s Covid-19 nursing home death toll (15,000) could be conveniently blamed on Trump, with the media’s blessing.
Was it a coincidence that New York’s Attorney General Letitia James (Cuomo’s fellow Democrat) waited until after the Biden inauguration to issue her shocking accusations of Cuomo’s underreporting of nursing home deaths? Cuomo is now facing a federal investigation and possible impeachment. He has also been accused of threatening an Asian American legislator unless he backed off his criticism of the governor. The Emmy Award winning (ironically for Covid reporting!) Cuomo may now wish the DC mob had stopped the election certification on January 6th.
Speaking of that infamous day, our Italian American sister, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, bared her fangs when a reporter questioned her part in not fortifying the Capitol before the riot. “Your question is a waste of time!” she sneered. In fact, Pelosi oversees Capitol security. It was a valid question, not one that came from mainstream media, but rather from the conservative Washington Examiner.
Andrew Cuomo thought he could control the Covid narrative by writing a book on his pandemic leadership and cooking the nursing home books. Nancy Pelosi now finds herself in need of her own convincing January 6th narrative. To that end, she has taken control of the “independent” investigation into the Capitol breach. She has unilaterally appointed former Army Lt. General Russel Honoré to gather evidence. Just how unbiased is the general? An outspoken creole (mixed race) from Louisiana, Honoré has already denounced the Capitol Police as complicit in the attack,“…30 to 40 percent of the officers are Trumpsters. That’s a fact Jack”. Republican Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), who will begin his own hearings on Tuesday, objects to Pelosi’s choice: “General Honoré is an extreme partisan and should be the LAST person to head up an investigation of what happened at the Capitol on Jan 6th.” At what point will “the investigation” actually become non-partisan? Does the media care?
The riot of January 6th would never have happened if Donald Trump didn’t invite his masses to Washington. Steven D’Antuono, in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, has taken some 100 rioters into custody. Surprisingly, none has been charged with “insurrection”, the very crime for which Trump was tried and acquitted. The worst offenders, like Proud Boys Dominic Pezzola and William Pepe, were charged with variations of this lesser crime: “conspiracy to obstruct, influence, impede and interfere with law enforcement officers engaged in their official duties in protecting the U.S. Capitol and its grounds,” Is that the best indictment they can come up with for these goons? Most other rioters, like the weirdo with the horns, were charged with trespassing, property damage, or violating curfew. A few were charged with illegal weapons possession or assault & battery. We still don’t know how Officer Brian Sicknick was killed. The NYTimes retracted its story that he was pummeled with a fire extinguisher. His autopsy report still has not been released! Does the media care?
Why hasn’t mainstream media homed in on this autopsy, or why the Capitol was unprepared for crowd control? Why isn’t any reporter demanding to know why, and for how long, 5,000 troops will surround our Capitol? From all appearances, it looks like the media has gone into hibernation for the next four years. No tough questions for Biden or his press secretary Jen Psaki on any issue. Even Dr. Anthony Fauci is giving them a pass on reopening schools, which he has favored for months.
On former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s call to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing to protest Uighar genocide, the Biden Administration has gone silent. The Communists have promised “fierce retaliation” to any boycotters. Where are the righteous Democrats and media on this? We should boycott the games just to protest the “China Virus” – another term that been banned by Executive Order.
The confirmation of Gina Raimondo for Commerce Secretary is being held up by Republicans because she is noncommittal on keeping a Communist telecommunication company on the U.S. blacklist for national security reasons. Shouldn’t the public know about this?
If “back to normal” means media collusion while our nation is being deconstructed and socially re-engineered, then the price is already too high. -JLM
Amen. It’s becoming very difficult to laud our Italian American dignitaries and overlook their deeds and misdeeds. Unfortunately, some of them are dishonoring our heritage.
Elected leaders have a responsibility to stop the double-talk. Especially give us the facts as to why the security forces were not on full duty on January 6th!!! God help us and God help our country!
