Secret Aurora

Level I

Write down the secret information on a piece of paper with your name on it.  Hand the paper to your teacher when you arrive at class.  If correct you will earn euros.  Make sure you have the correct Level and lesson.  DON’T tell your classmates the secret information.

Level I
For Lesson 2 – The calendar we use today with 365 days and an extra day every four years was devised in Italy in 1582. It is called the Gregorian Calendar after Pope Gregory.

For Lesson 3 – Italy is Europe’s #1 producer of rice. Italians don’t just eat pasta!

For Lesson 4 – Our word “cereal” comes from the Roman goddess of grain “Ceres”

For Lesson 5 – The U.S. Capitol building in Washington DC was named for the most important hill in Rome: the Capitoline Hill. Rome is famous for its seven hills.

For Lesson 6 – Our word “puppet” comes from the Latin “pupa” which means a doll.
